The lights were glowing as the floor was filled oversized dresses and masked men, the room smelt of sweet fruits and too much spray. Only the most upright were invited which was practicaly the whole right side of the city. Music could also be heard, it's sweet sound filling the air, where Alanna stayed. She hated such events, she hated the dresses, the people, the laughter that somehow overpowered the music. She gave a sigh before pushing her way through the crowd to the balcony. Her father had dragged her to many of these that she had lost count. She hated it, but she was told that she could have protental as a lady in training, so now her father was in debt to the sire. Really she just wanted to be out in streets with her friend and go exploring...though from here the city looked amazing.

Conrad stood at the front gates, in uniform with suited him very much. A harsh emotion spread across his face, this time no one would disturb the sire. The cold air didn't bother him as much, since winter was on it's way, he was use to it. He stood there, gun in hand and horse beside him, he should have gone and did he usually check in. So with that he got onto the stallion and kicked him into a light trot making his way into the city and along it's streets.

A man standing on the balcony leaning on the side sighed his mask covering his face but oh how he did not want tobe there but he was being a prince wasn't as easy as most people thought exspecially when you didn't want to be one he looked over the side and onto the kingdom a frown on his face even though it wasn't seen from the mask that was covering his hole face

A short girl in a black cloak with a black mask stood outside the castle near a far off window a sirk on her lips she also was wearing a mask but not for the same reasons as everyone else .. she was a quite non theft ad was soon to strike again she enjoyed how the laughter and dancing always entertained the simple minded now she was ready and oh how beautiful it would be .. it would have to be timed perfectly but she will do it she always did

Alanna gave a sigh before turning, her bright irsis eyes widened seeing a man leaning over the belcony. She hurried over and reached out pulling him back, "are you insane!" she yelled looking at him just realizing who it was. "Your majestey" she said, her irsis eyes dimming slightly in shame, "very sorry".

Conrad rode starting to make his way back to the castle, is was a shockingly quiet night tonight but he knew something was up. "So boy wanna head back?" he asked, the horse shook it's head in agreement.

"what is the meaning of this" he said glaring at her slgihtly not understanding her reaction to him just standing there leaning against the side

Shadow crawled into a window and slowly walked in then slowly and sneakily walked into a room with the most valueable stuff

"Sorry I just thought...well", she looked away nervously before looking at him, "excuse my actions please" she bowed slightly. Great she would be in for it now...

Conrad returned and walked inside to the ball to make sure that everything was on track.

Kanji glared at her then nodded looking away "your excused just don't do it again" he said looking back over not wanting to over react

Shadow smirked looking around she got everything valuble that she could steal and had it on her back then walked up the stares and sat on the railing so everyone can hear her then bursted out into a loud sinister fit of laugher "congradulations you have just been robed by the great Shadow" she said jumping down and throw a smoke bomb on the ground making the hole room go black with smoke as she jumped out the window and run into the forest as fast as she could finding her horse getting on it and riding away

Kanji ran into the ball to see thick black smoke "dammit she got away Guards after her knowing her reputation she god most of our stuff!!" he yelled

Conrad was already on it, leading a team of horseman throughout the city in the search. *Not a good night* he thought to himself as he quickened his horse into a canter and kept his eye open. Conrad was one of the best fighters/guards that the castle had to offer, he had worked with the family for a very long time.

Alanna watched the theft leave smiling at her friend, *oh Shadow*, she giggled slightly. Shadow was always getting into trouble, she turned and looked around the room before heading back to the belcony smiling at the night's sky...it was beautiful.

Kanji sat down sighing that girl would be the death of him she was the best and he knew it

Shadow chuckled going into a hut quickly hiding the stuff really well and changing into her girl clothes

*The Hext Day*
Alanna gave a sigh as she leaned against the alley's walls, she wore her normal street clothsw, her light brown hair was hidden under a cap. "So you had to steal on the day I was there huh?" she asked Shadow.

"of course they where distracted and in one room it was perfect" she said chuckling her hood on but still wearing her dress

Alanna shook her head, "come on before the soup at the old kitchen is all gone" she said walking with her. "Tonight I have a lesson at the castle" she said a slight sigh.

Shaadow nodded walking quickly with her "wellgood luck with that" she said chuckling

Alanna rolled her eyes slightly, "yea yea it will be so much fun" she said as they walked along, "stupid prince too".

"ahahahaha what did the prince do" she asked smirking

"Well I thought he was going to jump off the belcony so I kinda pushed him away and he started freaking out at me, that I wanted to just punch him" she said.

Shadow laughed hard at her "oh wow only you would have that kinda luck" she said looking at her then looked around smirking then fixed her dress

"Shut up" she said rolling her eyes before looking around as they walked into the soup kitchen and grabbed a bowl and tray.

Shadow chuckled grabbing the same thing "well maybe he wanted you for intercourse" she said smirking more

"Ewww I would never", she paused looking around before whispering, "have intercourse with him" she said as she got her bowl filled with soup.

Shadow nodded getting her bowl of soup "you never no you could one day fall inlove with him" she said sitting down smirking at her

Alanna frowned at that and shook her head, "oh no no no I would never fall in love with someone like him" she said shaking her head and sat down.

"if your sure" Shadow said smirking and slowly started eating looking around the room again for various reason

"Uh huh, anyway I have to get going...got to get ready for the ball practice" she said and grinned lightly, before getting up and waving by to her friend.

Shadow waved back smirking more then finished her soup and got up smirking and slowly walking out thinking of things she head to steal that day then crashed into something or someone

Alanna hurried home when she saw the carriage waiting and crawled through her window changing and hurrying into the carriage not many knew her sercet persona.

Conrad looked down at the girl, "you okay?" he asked, his amber eyes locked onto her.
